In its seventh year, The Rising Firefly Magazine is the largest publication of authentic Kemetic (African) philosophy, spirituality, and culture. Published by Master Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, the only Dogon/Kemetic High Priest outside of the African bush, it is the largest vehicle for disseminating the teachings of the MıTAM School of Kemetic Philosophy and Spirituality offered at The Earth Center. Earth Center students contribute articles, management, and editing to this wonderful publication that aims at strengthening education, spirituality, culture, and unity among all people. It strives to attain this unity through the reintroduction of the values that sustained the Ancient Kemetic civilizations. It is taught that by going back to the origins of civilization, we can achieve unity among all people. The Rising Firefly consists of several columns written by students and associates of The Earth Center as well as Master Naba himself. The Pilgrimıs Walking Stick starts off the magazine, offering assistance to the reader on their journey through life. In the current issue (Volume 50), Master Naba helps us gain a more realistic perspective on our existence and the nature of a human being and the universe he/she inhabits. He explains the shortcomings of the modern views and the relevance of astrological readings on the inhabitants of this planet. The reader is provided with a further understanding of the science of Geomancy and Bayuali readings. Master Naba is world renowned as an authority of this science and its techniques. Similar to astrology, one can find their readings according to their birthdate. Bayuali readings provide the reader with foresight and give suggestions for adjusting ones life in accordance with the Earth energies. They are available in each issue of the Firefly in a more thorough version than the Sunnyside readings. Written by an Earth Center student, the Initiate column is about the knowledge received in the M'TAM education. It is about the application of the knowledge and the paradigm shift that is taking place in the studentıs mind (from the self-destructive values of the modern world towards the Kemetic values that sustained humanityıs first civilization for over 140,000 years). The Kaıat Ibi column also serves as a platform for studentsı perspectives on the Kemetic education that is taught at The Earth Center. In the Harmonious Healing column, one will find a clearer understanding of illnesses (the current issue focuses on depression, a dilemma many of us face in our modern society). It begins with the modern Western understanding, but also walks us through various perspectives of some traditional cultures: the Indian Ayurvedic tradition, Japanese Kampo, and the Kemetic understanding. Depression is the most common psychological problem and is needlessly stigmatized due to the ignorance of its true causes. I would recommend this article to everyone. We are all affected by depression in one way or another, either through personal experience or the experience of a loved one.. The present conditions of humanity and the environment are some reasons many people become depressed. In the Earth Talk column, Bouneith Inejnema explores controversial health, environmental, or cultural issues. In this issue, she exposes the hazards of the cell phone, explaining the truth behind the harm of cell-phone radiation. he Rising Firefly is a lifeline thrown to honest seekers drowning in the troubled waters of the modern worldıs confusion and deception. From healing tips to the original spiritual holidays, a wide array of subjects are covered. In the current issue, you will find Healthy Eating - recipes providing some exciting variation for a healthy food menu, breaking the notion that all healthy eating must be boring and bland. The healing benefits of cayenne are also investigated in the Healing Herbs column. For more home remedies, contact The Earth Center for the Healing Kitchen booklet that is full of thousand-year old recipes of easy remedies for common ailments. In the article The Trap Of Time, the notion of time division is pursued, and the original method is uncovered with the Sidereal Calendar. The Sidereal Calendar represents the most accurate method of time division and is the only calendar based on astronomical knowledge and precision. It was used before and during the Pharaonic period and is still used by various African societies today. It has been introduced to the outside world by Master Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig and is available at The Earth Center. In addition to the books reviewed in the Book Corner, you will also find an article on the only CD to bring back the initiatic language of Medu. Also known as the ancient hieroglyphics, the language of Medu was the first language of humanity and is presented with music in this historic project. Miles Davisı pianist, Baabe Irving III (also an Earth Center student) teams up with the African Arts Ensemble as well as other special guests for this spectacular project. Read the in-depth article and contact The Earth Center for your copy of this monumental album. For those who love a good story, the Night Fire column is Master Nabaıs column of Kemetic/Dogon initiation tales. In the current issue (as always) he brings us a wonderful, exciting, and enlightening story along with an introduction of the values and themes behind it. Entitled "The Downhill Path," this article deals with the corruption of the human being. In it, he helps us understand why we should all consider ourselves as Heru. "We are all Heru, this God-child born weak and premature, but with a mission of becoming strong and combating Seth, the God that killed Wsr, the father of Heru, to usurp the throne of the divine ancestor of the human being...Heru must understand that his first battle resides in himself: to free himself from corruption." Look for Master Nabaıs upcoming book Night Fire: Initiation Tales of Hej Ptah. Read about the three ancient spiritual holy days or holidays, their meanings and significance regarding the God Wsr (Ausar or Osiris) as well as the reason and method of the original spiritual fast. The BenBen column deals with different cultural practices and traditions from around the world. In this issue, the Africans of America are highlighted, and in a report by Earth Center student Merista Inejnema, Ebonics is researched with respect as a language. She also examines the intentions to view it otherwise. The title article comes from the Philosophy Podium, a column by Master Naba. In it, he explains the corruption projected towards the Divine World of the Gods by humanityıs emotionally driven ideas of spirituality. He discusses the danger in creating an idea of an individualıs favorite God instead of understanding the work involved in honest spiritual evolution, and how there are no shortcuts along the path towards the Divine World and gaining an understanding of the Gods. In the In Search of the Gods column, "Coming Close To the Divine Part 2" by Bikbaye Inejnema, the role of the ancestors in each personıs process toward the divine is explained, as well as why ancestor worship is so prevalent in the traditional spiritual systems around the world. Bouneith Inejnema Spotlights the country of Haitiıs Fonkoze Organization, a bank and financial institution providing Haitiıs poor an opportunity for financial services and small business support. It is an institution that understands there is strength in numbers - no individual can survive alone. "When all the fireflies shine the way for one another, we will all succeed at developing the country," says the Fonkoze mission statement.
