A New Generation of African Healers
by Bouneith Inejnema

If one looks in the yellow pages for an alternative healer, one will find a myriad of choices. From naprapaths to chiropracters and from Chinese medicine to reiki, the alternative health field is growing. One portion of this field, however, is sorely lacking in both exposure and practitioners: Traditional African Healing. While traditional Chinese and Indian health and healing methods are quite well-known, African Healing remains perhaps the one area that is seemingly mysterious and unavailable. Yet this is not so.

The Earth Center, by way of Ankhkasta Natural Healing, is fortunate to have a Master Healer and Spiritual Master with us. Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig, Dogon Spiritual Master and Traditional Healer, has brought Ankhkasta Natural Healing to the USA. Ankhkasta is a network of over 10,000 traditional healers throughout Africa, and their safe, effective and time-tested herbal supplements and remedies that were once reserved for villages and those who ³know someone² are now available to the public. In addition, Master Naba has been ordained by both the Elders of the Dogons as well as the other healers of the Ankhkasta network to form new generation healers outside of the African initiation camps - for the first time ever!

Feb 7, 2004 was a very special day, as it marked the graduation of the first generation of new Ankhkasta Healers. The Earth Center and Ankhkasta Natural Healing graduated several local healers who have passed the first level of the Ankhkasta certification program. It is the first time in history that knowledge of the African Healing System has been transmitted to students outside of the African Bush. The graduates are in a class of their own: they have been taught by a Master Healer and have access to the special herbs and remedies found only in traditional Africa. Do not mistake these graduates with mere ³Afrocentric healers² - they have been trained by the best, and have the credentials and ability to prove it!

Among the graduates are four Herpws, Master Naba¹s eldest students. The Herpws are at the top of the initiation pyramid in this country and oversee the activities of all other graduates. The Herpws graduating from the Ankhkasta Healing Certification Course are: Bikbaye Inejnema, Bikdeni Inejnema, Bouneith Inejnema and Meriabu Inejnema. Congratualtions to these Herpws!

Other graduates from the first group of healers include: Pamela Phillips, Rebecca Hope Edwards, Paul Kimmons, Mae Hunter, and Matthew Arnett. Congratulations to these new healers. All graduates of the first level of Ankhkasta Natural Healing program now hold the title of ³Sounou Adjed nii Sount².

Feb 7, 2004 also marked the graduation of the second round of Ka¹at Ibi Kemetic Meditation Instructors. These new instructors hold the title of ³Imasha Adjed² of Ka¹at Ibi. They are authorized to teach the Ka¹at Ibi techniques under the supervision of a Herpw. Graduates include: Robert ³Baabe² Irving III, Mae Hunter, Pam Phillips, Rebecca Hope Edwards, Paul Kimmons and Matt Arnett.

A new semester of Ankhkasta Natural Healing Certification and Ka¹at Ibi Kemetic Meditation Certification has recently started, but don¹t worry, as another class will be forming very shortly. To register for your Ankhkasta or Ka¹at Ibi education, call us at 773-722-7001.
