Greetings members,
Happy new Kemetic Year to you all. May the year 422 of the Sidereal calendar bring you stability, patience, tolerance, understanding and cohesion in these times of change.
Summer in the northern hemisphere brings outdoor festivals for people to celebrate a theme that can be about a single culture, part of it or about many cultures. These festivals seem to be growing in popularity since the lifting of recent pandemic restrictions. This shows the need of people to be out and about together.
The Earth Center has been representing Dogon and Kemetic culture at a festival in the UK, held in woodlands and fields with a theme of reconnecting people with nature. For a few days, we were with people and cultures that came from different parts of the world. It forced us all to adjust and have patience and tolerance to be and grow in the same space. That’s not easy when there are 4,000 people together. Fortunately, the Earth is a big place for the whole of humanity.
The understanding of differences contrasts with those dominating cultures that seek to be ‘the’ monoculture. We see in farming how monocultures deplete the soil, the eco system and are not sustainable. Diversity of cultures requires intelligence to respect that there are differences and to seek what is common and unifying.
Michael Jackson's lyrics come to mind from ‘Can you feel it’ – "All the colors of the world should be that, Lovin' each other wholeheartedly…. "Cause we're all the same, yes, the blood inside me is inside you". Other singers call for this understanding too, like Lucky Dube’s song ‘Different colors, One people’. Take a moment and go listen to them.
On our mission to preserve and promote humanity’s ancestral culture for the health and well-being of all people we seek out our capacities to live alongside each other and within nature. For this mission, our founder Neb Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig gained permission to bring back some fundamental tools for humanity. In July, we honored his legacy and tireless work that included bringing back the Sidereal calendar and The Great Book of Divine Ordinances to help guide humanity towards unity again. The Calendar for the 422 year is available in our Temples and can be purchased online here.
Our new Zeshmi (head of the M’TAM Temples (Mystery Schools)), Naba Iritah Shenmira, is working hard with the leadership to ensure that the Temples across the world remain aligned with the Divine principles. The Temple of the Air has been established which satisfies the long awaited demand for an online Initiation. This makes the Earth Center a global institution. To mark this, 3 Initiates from the 1st online generation and the 77th international generation, share their experience below.
We appreciate your continued support in our collective mission to be well. None of us can do this alone, we need each other to reclaim humanity’s greatness that was once commonplace on Earth.

Reflections on Online Initiation
Initiation is a lifelong journey that connects the human being to the self, environment, and the universe. It is a path of expansive growth, development, and continuity of evolution. In the life of a human being, few are qualified to be a teacher, and far fewer are qualified to be a master. The initiatic journey is a steep climb uphill, where one must face his/herself.It is only through the challenges that a human being grows and becomes. In life, many ask the foundational question, and this question goes unanswered for many. The question, of course, is what is my purpose and destiny? Often, educated people try to answer this simply by philosophizing, theorizing, and hypothesizing. However, the question remains unanswered, and the human being is left without guidance. The benefits of initiation are the continuity and connectivity to all things, and the opportunity to answer the most critical question in life, what is my purpose and destiny, and how is it attained?~ NejIbRa Pernebsati, Merr of the 1st Online Generation
Initiation has changed my life. It opened up my vision to an understanding of a language, a culture and vision that has been hidden inside of my being since I was born. I had so many questions of who I was, what my purpose was and the things that I need to accomplish as a spiritual human being. I never had a solid answer. Neither did I have an explanation that made sense. MTAM took a group of people under their wing and showed us how we were all connected with the same mission, the same goals, the same gifts. I feel blessed that I was able to connect with people that I never knew were here, that were just searching for reason, being beyond what was given. I have a family and a community that stand on principles. The community is wonderful. The priests are all people who you can respect and feel part of and they're truly there to understand you and help you overcome the struggles that have made your life difficult. My online generation is just amazing. We are literally a tight family we call on each other as brothers and sisters with no hesitation or regret and we can take understanding of different parts of our lives and really make a difference in our own. Initiation has also taught me how to respect other people and where they come from and their becoming…even as a diverse group of people who started online we commune, learn, rejoice and discuss differences in harmony. My children are so excited to join initiation and fulfill their destiny. They understand the mission and desire to represent MTAM for the generations to come. Thank you!!!~ ZemThaui Pernebsati, Initiate of the 1st Online Generation
Initiation imposed itself on my life in a way that required me to re-learn how to properly
cleanse my body and prayer space, how to eat, present myself and live in a way that honors my Ancestors and family name. Above all else, initiation taught me how to reconnect and re-align with the earth who sustains us. I have only visited the Earth Center (EC) twice so far. The first time was a couple of years after Prophet Neb Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig (Maakheru) had transitioned to the Ancestral realm. I bought the black and white memorial issue of Rising Firefly Publications, which documented Maakheru’s journey through stories written by his disciples. This visit to the EC occurred in 2010.
For a decade, I prepared for an opportunity to initiate. I read the Philosophy Podium a few times and all the literature I could find written by Maakheru. The second time I visited was the Earth Center of Maanu, Inc. in Chicago for graduation last month (2022). My generation was received with love and support by Hat-Tenees (elder Initiates) and initiates from Earth Centers in Chicago, Houston, Baltimore, and New Jersey to name a few. It was a humbling experience to meet Kem from around the world and to graduate in the location where Maakheru first began the Earth Center nearly two decades ago. As a member of the first online generation and 77th generation of the EC, our class consists of many countries with a variety of different languages spoken and cultures represented. However, we all submit to the same value system, the 77 commandments, and the divine model. As the first male to graduate from our generation, standing on the podium waiting to receive my new name, I can only describe a sensation of electricity flowing through my body from head to toe. I have never felt so alive as I did in that moment! The sense of gratitude that washed over me for our teacher Naba Iritah Shenmira, our teaching assistants, elders, family and ancestors was overwhelming. If I had to choose one word to sum up my experience as an initiate, it would be "ReB’earth".
Duaoo (thank you),
